Game for children with autism from 8 years old
With the game cards of 'This is how I see myself! autism', children are challenged to think about themselves. How do they think, feel and behave in different situations? This game is related to the books 'Me and autism' and 'Autism in me', but can also be used separately. There are three types of cards; statement cards, situation cards and scale questions. The word autism is not used on the cards. This allows the game to be used as the start of a guidance process focused on psycho-education, as the end of a treatment or in conversation with a group of children (with and without autism).
A game box (with 3 game variations) consists of 70 game cards.
The card game can be used in different situations. Some tips for using the game:
– Talk with a group of children (with and without autism) based on the cards about how everyone thinks, feels and acts in different situations. What do children recognize in each other? What can they learn from each other?
– Use the game as part of a classroom education about autism.
– Let a child explain to other children how situations work for him or her based on a number of cards.
Dimensions game box: 12x9x1.5 cm.
